Newark, N.J.-based University Hospital’s Structural Heart Program has completed its 100th transcatheter aortic valve replacement procedure.
Each procedure is performed by a multidisciplinary team, including cardiologists and cardiac surgeons, at the hospital’s cardiac catheterization lab, according to a June 12 news release.
The catheterization lab uses intravascular imaging and physiological studies to consistently perform procedures. The hospital’s interventional cardiology program provides full invasive diagnostic vascular studies for all vascular beds and therapeutic interventions in the coronary and peripheral vascular beds.
The TAVR procedure is endorsed by the American Heart Association and the American College of Cardiology, the release said.
At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 11-13 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
