Jersey City medical group boosts cardiology program with new leadership

West Orange, N.J.-based RWJBarnabas Health Medical Group will welcome Michael Benz, MD, as a new member of the medical group in September.

Dr. Benz, who currently serves as the medical director of the Structural Heart Program at Jersey City (N.J.) Medical Center, an RWJBarnabas Health facility, will continue his leadership role at JCMC, according to an Aug. 5 release. 

The cardiac surgery program at JCMC is Hudson County’s only cardiac surgery program. Dr. Benz will support the development of new technologies, craft guidelines for patient treatment and participate in learning opportunities across RJWBarnabas Health’s Heart and Vascular northern division.
