Thomas Yeh, MD, a cardiovascular surgeon of Savannah, Ga., died May 19 at age 96, according to a May 25 report from Savannah Morning News.
Dr. Yeh graduated first in his class from the National Taiwan University and came to the U.S. in 1952. He then served an internship in Utah, completed a residency in Kentucky and then studied at the Medical College of Georgia.
In 1967, Dr. Yeh performed the first open-heart surgery in Savannah.
