Ballad Health and East Tennessee State University, both based in Johnson City, Tenn., have expanded an ongoing cardiology partnership, according to a March 24 report from the Johnson City Press.

Ballad Health will now add ETSU Health’s adult cardiology specialists at Ballad’s CVA Heart Institute.

The expanded partnership will allow ETSU’s residents and fellows the opportunity to train and oversee patient care at Ballad. ETSU’s three-year cardiology program hosts nine fellows.

Ballad Health currently has locations in Kingsport, Johnson City, Greeneville and Mountain City, Tenn.

This expanded partnership builds on existing collaborations between the university and the health system, which also struck a sports medicine partnership in June 2024.

At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 11-13 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
