Beebe Healthcare in Lewes, Del., has launched its cardiovascular institute to expand integrated heart, vascular and lung care across Sussex County, according to a July 22 press release.

The institute brings together more than 30 heart and vascular specialists who provide a wide range of services, including heart care, lung and blood vessel surgery and treatment for irregular heartbeats. It builds on Beebe’s existing facilities and procedures, including minimally invasive treatments like valve replacement and stroke prevention for patients with atrial fibrillation.

Mouhanad Freih, MD, has been named physician leader. A new general cardiology practice led by Andrew Foy, MD, also opened as part of the initiative. Beebe plans to implement Epic and MyChart in November and pursue accreditation from the American College of Cardiology.
