Abbott receives FDA approval for AI coronary imaging device

Medical device company Abbott recently gained FDA approval for its new AI-powered software, Radiology Business reported Aug. 3.

The company’s Ultreon Software combines imaging techniques with artificial intelligence algorithms to give cardiologists a complete view of patients’ coronary blood vessels for enhanced assistance with various treatment options.

Abbott received clearance to market the device in Europe in April.
