  1. The average starting salary for cardiologists has risen to $470,000 in 2025, a 19% increase from $396,000 in 2024, according to a report from AMN Healthcare
  2. Cardiology’s growth outpaced the average starting salary increase for physicians overall, which reached $403,000 across all specialties.
  3. Physician incentives also increased, with the average signing bonus rising by 23% year-over-year to $38,315.
  4. According to survey data from Marit Health, the average annual total compensation for cardiologists is $586,573.
  5. Electrophysiologists earn an average of $707,654.
  6. Heart failure and transplant cardiologists earn an average of $646,736.
  7. Interventional cardiologists earn an average of $714,029.
  8. Pediatric cardiologists earn an average of $355,667, according to the survey.
