Gainesville-based University of Florida Health broke ground on a 23-hour unit expansion at its surgery center, the UF Health Surgical Center. 

OrthoIllinois withdrew its application to build an ASC in Beloit, Wis., after a monthslong controversy over planning and zoning, the Beloit Daily News reported April 12. 

Downers Grove, Ill.-based DuPage Medical Group has opened a medical office building in Westmont, Ill., according to an April 12 release.  

The Brooklyn Hospital Center in New York City is now interviewing private development partners for the $1 billion renovation of its campus and the development of an ASC and outpatient diagnostic center, according to Real Estate Weekly.

Meridian has sold a 57,573-square-foot medical office building with an ASC in Laguna Hills, Calif. 

Maine Gov. Janet Mills signed a law April 6 that requires certified registered nurse anesthetist services be covered and reimbursed by payers.

Hartford, Ky.-based Ohio County Healthcare is adding a $16 million surgery center, which is expected to break ground mid-fall. 

Renovation has begun on Buffalo, N.Y.-based Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center's Head & Neck Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Speech Pathology & Dental Center, according to an April 8 release.

The Florida legislature passed a law March 29 to provide legal shields for healthcare providers, including ASCs, against COVID-19 liability claims, the National Law Review reported April 9.
