Memorial Hermann Surgery Center Conroe turns 33 years old: 5 key notes

Memorial Hermann Surgery Center Conroe (Texas) is celebrating 33 years of treating patients.

The surgery center opened in 1984 and two physicians in the original group — ophthalmologist Mark Jenkins, MD, and OB/GYN Richard Roberts, MD — continue to perform cases at the center.

Here are five things to know about Memorial Hermann Surgery Center Conroe:

1. The ASC includes seven operating rooms and three overnight stay rooms.

2. Specialties at the surgery center include cardiology, ENT, general surgery, OB/GYN, ophthalmology, orthopedic surgery, oral surgery, pain management, retina, podiatry, urology and plastic surgery.

3. The Joint Commission accredits the facility, which is a United Surgical Partners International affiliate.

4. There are 55 physicians and surgeons affiliated with the center.

5. Ed Downs, RN, is the ASC’s administrator. He works with Clinical Director Shoney Lewis, RN, MSD, Business Office Manager Cindi Allard, and Medical Director John Fackler, MD, to run the center.
