Cleveland Clinic Innovations chose Twiage, an Atlanta-based Blueprint Health company offering EMS to ED care transitions via mobile device, as one of four finalists in its New Ventures Healthcare Challenge, according to HIT Consultant.

Here are five key notes:

1. Cleveland Clinic created the challenge to encourage digital health companies to improve healthcare delivery.

2. Materialized in 2013, Twiage offers a telemedicine platform via mobile device for first responders and physicians.

3. The interoperable platform allows first responders to record stroke symptoms and EKGs with video, take photos of trauma situations and record pertinent notes via voice memos.

4. EMTs can record patient data in real-time and physicians can prepare for incoming ambulances based on the platform's GPS tracker.

5. Explorer, Noninvasix and Varsa Health include the other finalists in the challenge.
