How Anthem's new anesthesia policy for cataract surgery will affect ASCs
Anthem recently made a policy change that claimed monitored anesthesia care during routine cataract surgery was not medically necessary. The California Academy of Eye Physicians and Surgeons and the California Society of Anesthesiologists are requesting that Anthem review the policy before a disastrous error takes place.

Judge grants ASC's injunction against former physicians in non-compete case
A district judge barred six physicians from ownership or affiliation with Sioux City, Iowa-based Tri-State Specialists' Riverview Surgical Center until the court decides whether the physicians violated non-compete agreements they had with Sioux City-based Pierce Street Same Day Surgery.
