Here are four points:
1. Virtua’s proposed hospital would cost $527 million. The medical campus has a $1 billion estimated cost.
2. The campus will house an ASC, medical offices, a rehabilitation facility, a helipad, parking garages, residential hospice and assisted-living centers.
3. State Department of Health Commissioner Cathleen D. Bennett will make the final decision regarding the proposal.
4. A Virtua spokesperson said in a statement, “Virtua will work with the residents and surrounding communities to be a good neighbor during the planning for this project and for years to come, just as we did when planning the Virtua Voorhees replacement hospital in Camden County.”
