Iowa hospital completes new surgery center — 4 insights

Shenandoah, Iowa.-based Shenandoah Medical Center opened its new surgery center Nov. 29, KMALand reports.

1. The surgery center was that last project the hospital completed with its $25 million USDA Rural Development Loan.

2. SMC CEO Matt Sells said the surgery center is a “major milestone,” for the hospital.

3. The surgery center is 18,000 square feet.

4. Hospital officials believe the center will be fully operational Dec. 11.
