Here are five things to know:

1. The facility accommodates walk-in patients and services those who don’t require an emergency room visit. The hospital will be open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. during the week and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the weekends.

2. The physicians of Sioux Falls (S.D.) Specialty Hospital, led by Blake Curd, MD, opened the facility. While the ACA prohibits physician-owned hospitals from expanding within the facility, they have been able to open remote locations such as the urgent care hospital.

3. The hospital will accept most insurances and offers a short wait time for patients.

4. Sioux Falls Specialty Hospital includes an imaging facility and family care practice in addition to pain specialists. The hospital’s physicians focus on orthopedics, cardiology, dental and oral surgery, gastroenterology, general surgery and neurosurgery.
