U of Southern California opens Norris Healthcare Center with outpatient surgery center — 4 insights

Keck Medicine of University of Southern California recently opened the Norris Healthcare Center, a 116,000-square-foot facility with an outpatient surgical center. Both facilities are based in Los Angeles.

Here's what you should know:

1. Center physicians offer a variety of services including women's specialty care, urology, infusion, oncology and gastroenterology, among others. The center can accommodate more than 100,000 patients annually.

2. The building's surgery center has six operating rooms, 46 exam rooms, multiple procedure rooms, a blood draw station, a pharmacy and an image enhancement center.

3. The building was designed to coordinate care across different specialties. For example, all women's specialty care services are grouped together on a single floor.

4. Keck Medicine CEO Thomas Jackiewicz said, "Keck Medicine of USC is in a period of unprecedented growth, with significant increases in patient volume, and the new Norris Healthcare Center will help us meet the growing demand."
