8 hospitals, health systems opening or planning ASCs — December 2017

Here are eight hospitals and health systems that have opened or announced plans for ASCs in December 2017.

Houston-based Nobilis Health opened a new ASC in El Paso, Texas.

The new Valley Health Surgery Center in Winchester, Va., accepted its first patients Dec. 4. The center is a joint venture between Winchester, Va.-based Valley Health and 50-plus local physicians.

Pullman (Wash.) Regional Hospital plans to expand its same-day surgery service by 10 rooms.

NextMed Center of Carlsbad (Calif.) opened its medical campus which includes the Carlsbad Surgery Center, Dec. 5.

Shenandoah (Iowa) Medical Center opened its new surgery center.

Fernandina Beach, Fla.-based Baptist Medical Center Nassau is opening a 30,000-square-foot, $22.5 million surgery center in Fernandina Beach.

Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center and Surgical Care Affiliates officially opened Wake Forest Baptist Health Outpatient Surgery — Clemmons (N.C.) Dec. 11.

Martinsburg, W.Va.-based WVU Medicine Berkeley Medical Center held a ribbon cutting for a new outpatient surgery center.
