Tenet Healthcare pens deal with Centene, renews contract with UnitedHealth

Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare signed a deal with Centene as well as renewed and extended its contract with UnitedHealth Group, according to Yahoo Finance.

Here are five notes:

1. Tenet’s deal with Centene allows Centene members access to Tenet’s ASCs, hospitals and employed physicians in 18 states. Centene’s recently acquired Health Net members also can utilize services at Tenet facilities.

2. As per its contract with Centene, Centene and Health Net will combine all insurance products into a single contract.

3. Tenet and UnitedHealth extended their relationship for four years. The deal goes into effect Aug. 1, 2017.

4. UnitedHealth Group commercial and Medicare Advantage members have access to Tenet’s hospitals, ASCs and employed physicians.

5. Tenet’s contract with UnitedHealth features a value-based core component, as well.
