Under the agreement, Saint Joseph and Catholic Health Initiatives purchase interest in the partnership which operates the ASC. The surgery center will continue to be managed by SCA and will now be jointly owned by Saint Joseph, physician partners and SCA.
The ASC performs procedures in many specialties including gastroenterology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, ENT/otolaryngology, podiatry and general surgery.
“We are honored to be selected to enter into this relationship with the Saint Joseph system and Catholic Health Initiatives,” said Andrew Hayek, president and CEO of SCA, in a news release. “We believe this relationship will improve healthcare in Kentucky and other areas, and further position SCA as the partner of choice for health systems and physicians.”
