Stormont-Vail HealthCare breaks ground on surgery center

Stormont-Vail HealthCare, based in Topeka, Kan., has broken ground on an 87,657-square-foot, $20 million surgery center, according to a report by The Topeka Capital-Journal.

The Stormont-Vail orthopedic surgery and same-day surgery departments will move to the first floor of the new facility. Physical, occupational and speech therapy will be housed on the second floor, and physician offices will be on the third floor.

The new surgery center is expected to open in 2015.
