Seaside Surgery Center begins offering pain management services — 5 insights

North Naples, Fla.-based Seaside Surgery Center physicians began offering radiofrequency ablation services, Dec. 4.

Here’s what you should know:

1. Seaside Surgery Center invested in Cosman Medical’s G4 four-electrode radiofrequency generator unit to begin offering radiofrequency ablation services.

2. The procedure can provide six months or more of pain relief.

3. Physicians use the device to most commonly treat lower back, neck, thoracic or peripheral nerve pain.

4. Surgery center physician Paul Beebe, MD, said in a release, “Patients undergoing this procedure have responded favorably to diagnostic injections at the site of the painful condition. This outpatient procedure is usually performed in under an hour with only the use of local anesthetic and radiologic guidance, but can provide 6 months or more of significant pain relief. Once completed, the person can resume normal activities that same day. “

5. Luga Podesta, MD, of Bluetail Medical Group in Naples, Fla., also utilizes the center to perform radiofrequency ablation procedures.
