Camden Clark has acquired a majority interest in the surgery center, which will remain an independent operation and not become a department of the hospital. Tracey Hood, RN, CASC, the current administrator, will remain the facility’s manager and report to a board of managers comprised of David Mendoza, MD, Abdi Ghodsi, MD, Adam Kaplan, MD, Mike King, Allen Butcher and David McClure.
The joint venture was completed June 1 and is effective immediately. The surgery center, which opened in January 2008, works with 11 physician owners in a variety of specialties, including urology, orthopedics, neurosurgery, pain management, general surgery and gastroenterology. According to Ms. Hood, the center has seen about 18,000 patients since it opened.
