Novant, Wake Forest apply for CON for expansions including ASC: 3 insights

Charlotte, N.C.-based Novant Health and Winston Salem, N.C.-based Wake Forest Baptist Medical each filed CON applications for new facilities at their Clemmons and Davis campuses, respectively, Journal West reports.

Here’s what you should know.

Novant Health System
1. Novant is attempting to build a $13.1 million multi-specialty ASC.

2. The center would transfer two of its operating rooms from its Forsyth campus and develop a new procedure room in Clemmons.

3. If the state awards the system the CON, it projects a mid-2019 completion date.

Wake Forest Baptist
4. Wake Forest Baptist wants to build a $13.7 million addition to its Bermuda Run Hospital, adding an operating and minor procedure room.

5. A state spokeswoman said the applications are not considered competitive because of the hospital’s varying service areas.
