The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services heard project proposals from healthcare providers looking to expand their operating room footprints, ABC affiliate WWAY reports.

What you should know:

1. New Hanover Regional Medical Center is seeking permission to add four ORs to its main hospital in Wilmington, N.C., through an $8.4 million project.

2. Wilmington Eye Surgery Center and Wilmington-based WESCP submitted a proposal to develop a new two-room, $9.8 million ASC that could open in July 2021.

3. The state board has up to five months to rule on the proposals.
