Here’s what you should know:
1. The pavilion will be 80,000 square feet and two stories high.
2. Hospital administrators expect the facility to open in fall 2020.
3. The building will house 13 operating rooms, a general surgery or catheterization room, 28 private preoperative and recovery rooms and 24 post-anesthesia bays. The facility’s surgeons will perform minimally invasive and robotic procedures, including joint replacement.
4. MedStar plans to run a surgical residency program through the facility.
