Jefferson Health opens $17M ASC — 4 insights

Philadelphia-based Jefferson Health opened its 22,000-square-foot, $17 million Jefferson Surgery Center in Cherry Hill, N.J., the Philadelphia Business Journal reports.

Here’s what you should know:

1. Center physicians specialize in orthopedics, gastroenterology and pain management, among others.

2. Jefferson Health’s President Joseph Devine said the ASC is a “key strategic initiative” the organization will use to “transform” the Cherry Hill campus.

3. The center is a joint venture between Jefferson Health and local physicians, including some from Philadelphia-based Rothman Institute.

4. The ASC has six operating suites and two procedure rooms. Administrators believe the center can accommodate 10,000 surgical procedures annually.
