Bryan Medical Center to open outpatient surgery center — 5 insights

Lincoln, Neb.-based Bryan Medical Center plans to open its new medical building with an outpatient surgery center in March, 1011 Now reports.

Here's what you should know:

1. The ground floor of the building will feature the outpatient surgery center, while the three floors above it will be dedicated to clinical and office space.

2. Surgery center physicians will offer orthopedic, ENT, gynecological, podiatry, dental, oral maxillofacial and pain management services, among others.

3. The 17,000-square-foot surgery center will feature both preoperative and postoperative spaces and six operating rooms. The center will be able to add an additional two operating rooms, if demand necessitates it.

4. Bryan Medical Center made the move to open the center because of growing outpatient surgical demand. In 2015, medical center physicians performed 6,784 outpatient surgeries; in 2016, 6,995 outpatient surgeries; and in 2017, 7,302 outpatient surgeries.

5. The building is a joint venture between Bryan Medical Center and 76 physician investors.
