Indiana surgery center transforming into surgical training space — 3 insights

Angola, Ind.-based Trine University will occupy 8,900 square feet in a former eye surgery center on Parkview Health’s campus in Fort Wayne, Ind., according to The Journal Gazette.

Three insights:

1. The former surgery center will be renovated to accommodate Trine University’s surgical technology program, which is launching this fall.

2. Renovations are expected to be complete by Aug. 1. The end result will be a facility with two operating rooms, classrooms, locker rooms, a supply room, a sterile processing department, a lounge, faculty offices and an atrium.

3. The facility will be designed to allow students to train in surgical suites equipped with cutting-edge technology.
