Illinois Regulators Approve Sale of Two Resurrection Hospitals to For-Profit Vanguard

The Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board has approved the sale of two Chicago-area hospitals owned by Resurrection Health Care to for-profit Vanguard Health Systems, according to a report by the Chicago Tribune.

Under the deal, Vanguard would acquire West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, Ill., and West Lake Hospital in Melrose Park, Ill., for $40 million. Vanguard also pledged $15 million to improve the facilities.

The deal is expected to be finalized in the next few weeks.
