What you should know:
1. The new facility would replace the hospital. The facility would reduce the hospital’s bed count from 85 to 42 while expanding its outpatient presence.
2. Along with the 42 beds, the new facility would have six intensive care unit beds, eight operating suites and 70 outpatient exam rooms. The facility would offer outpatient primary and specialty care, lab, diagnostic, dental, behavioral health, and pharmacy services.
3. The facility would also have an emergency department.
4. Cook County Health would invest $240 million into the facility if the Illinois Health Facilities & Services Review Board grants the certificate-of-need request.
