Dr. Nadja West joins Tenet board

Nadja West, MD, is joining the Tenet board of directors effective Oct. 8 after her retirement from the U.S. Army.

Dr. West, is currently the surgeon general of the U.S. Army, and is the former commanding general of the U.S. Army Medical Command. She has also served in combat deployment and as a joint staff surgeon for the Pentagon and received the Distinguished Service Medal.

“Dr. West brings significant healthcare experience to our board through her service in the U.S. Army, her leadership roles in multiple hospitals and her work as a physician,” said Ron Rittenmeyer, Tenet’s executive chairman and CEO,

In addition to Dr. West joining, two Tenet board members, Edward A. Kangas and Brenda J. Gaines, are retiring effective Nov. 7 as part of the board’s refreshment efforts.
