Illinois ASCs to Merge

Eastland Medical Plaza SurgiCenter in Bloomington, Ill., is acquiring Bloomington-Normal Healthcare Surgery Center in Normal, Ill., according to a report by The Pantagraph.

Under the common ownership, leadership will work on plans for the ASCs to specialize in different specialties from each other.

The merger will not change the names of the ASCs and there are no anticipated staff reductions, according to the report.

Eastland SurgiCenter is an even split joint venture of OSF St. Joseph Medical Center and local physicians. Bloomington-Normal Healthcare is 75 percent owned by local physicians and 25 percent owned by OSF Saint Francis.
