1. With a wave of merger and acquisition activity washing over the healthcare field in 2016, Mr. Shaikh predicts more of the same for 2017.
2. Mr. Shaikh anticipates the the ACA’s future will have little to no effect on merger and acquisition activity in 2017. “The market forces are so much greater than the political forces at play here,” Mr. Shaikh said to Health Leaders Media.
3. Despite the increased M&A activity, Mr. Shaikh said he that until health plans and providers collaborate in a “meaningful manner,” that consumers will come out on the losing end.
