FTC voices support for abolishing NC CON law

The Federal Trade Commission has expressed support for North Carolina House Bill 200, which would eliminate the state’s certificate of need legislation, according to a Beaufort Observer report.

The FTC conducted a study of CON programs and suggested that the laws may result in anti-competitive effects, according to the report.

The FTC wrote a letter to Representative Marilyn Avila (R-40th District), who is the House committee chair in charge of HB 200, according to the report.
