1. The endoscopy center performs 3,900 procedures annually. It is owned by five physicians.
2. Nothing will change with the center if the acquisition is approved by the Connecticut Office of Health Care Access.
3. The physicians sought out the partnership to ensure financial and long-term sustainability, but the hospital had to file for certificate of need approval.
4. All five physicians have admitting privileges at the hospital and are in good standing.
5. If approved, the acquisition should lower costs for medical supplies and drugs for the center, while improving the center’s administrative services.
