Baptist Medical Center Nassau opens 30k-sq-ft surgery center — 3 insights

Fernandina Beach, Fla.-based Baptist Medical Center Nassau is opening a 30,000-square-foot, $22.5 million surgery center in Fernandina Beach, WOKV reports.

Here’s what you should know:

1. The center will open Dec. 14, but won’t be operational until Jan. 2, 2018.

2. Baptist Medical Center Nassau President Ed Hubel said the center will improve access to care in neighboring communities. He expects the center could possibly draw patients in from Georgia.

3. The center has several operating rooms and 20 preoperative and postoperative patient rooms.

Mr. Huebel said, “The community is growing and Baptist Nassau needed to grow with its community and provide a facility that would enhance the patient experience, continue to elevate our safe and quality care that we deliver, but also provide it to our patients and families with such an experience, that, from a care perspective, we could alleviate their anxiety, bring to the forefront the technology advancement that this community needed.”
