Here are five things to know:
1. Avera is purchasing the specialty hospital’s buildings, property and equipment. The specialty hospital includes a 10-bed hospital as well as imaging center, family medicine clinic and physical therapy.
2. There are independent physician practices based at the specialty hospital; the physicians will stay independent but become Avera’s tenants.
3. Physicians founded Lewis & Clark Specialty Hospital in 2002 and added on an addition in 2012.
4. The sale is expected to be final on April 1, according to the report.
5. The hospital’s specialties include ENT, general surgery, ophthalmology, orthopedics, podiatry and urology.
