Five things to know:
1. Tenet’s ambulatory care segment, which includes United Surgical Partners International, reported $480 million in revenue for the first quarter, a 3.6 percent drop from the same period last year. During the first quarter of 2018, Aspen generated $49 million in revenue.
2. As of March 31, Tenet reported 334 consolidated and unconsolidated facilities. The company reported same-facility revenue in the ambulatory care segment jumped 4.2 percent in the first quarter.
3. Same-facility case volume was up 0.9 percent, and per case revenue increased 3.3 percent.
4. The majority of Tenet’s ambulatory segment revenue is attributable to USPI, its surgical business. USPI’s same-facility revenue grew 4.2 percent year over year, and case volume jumped 2.8 percent. USPI centers’ revenue per case increased 1.4 percent.
5. Tenet expects 2019 revenue to hit $18 billion to $18.4 billion, and adjusted EBITDA of $2.6 billion to $2.7 billion.
