Here are six hospitals and health systems that have opened or announced plans for ASCs from the beginning to the end of May.

UMass Memorial Health Care, the largest health system in Massachusetts, has plans to lower costs for consumers through its new ASC in Shrewsbury, Mass.

Suffolk, Va.-based Sentara BelleHarbour, an outpatient medical center, is building a new medical building which will house an ASC in Suffolk.

Yale New Haven (Conn.) celebrated the groundbreaking of McGivney Surgical Center in New Haven.

Abilene, Texas-based Hendrick Health System dedicated its new surgery center in Brownwood, Texas May 12.

Cleveland Clinic and Jupiter, Fla.-based Rendina Healthcare Real Estate partnered to construct a $32 million, 72,000-square-foot health center in Coral Springs, Fla.

Providence, R.I-based Prospect CharterCare purchased Johnston, R.I.-based Blackstone Valley Surgicare, Rhode Island's largest freestanding ASC.
