Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Novant Health has approved plans for a multi-year facility expansion in Wilmington, N.C., including a second outpatient heart and vascular building and upgrades to surgical and endoscopy services.
The plans include an 80,000-square-foot heart and vascular medical office building to expand outpatient capacity beyond Novant’s existing location, which is operating at full capacity. The expansion will support growing demand for minimally invasive and diagnostic cardiovascular procedures in the region, according to a Feb. 12 news release.
As part of the project, Novant said it will also reconfigure clinical space at New Hanover Regional Medical Center to increase access to surgical and endoscopy services. The phased expansion is expected to span five to seven years and will require certificate-of-need approval for some components.
At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 11-13 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
