From real estate and private equity group investment to hospital and management company transactions, here are 32 ambulatory surgery center acquisitions that took place in 2014.

1. Premier Health's Middletown, Ohio-based Atrium Medical Center acquired Southwest Ohio Surgery Center, also in Middletown.

2. Banner Health acquired Canyon Springs Surgery Center. Banner invested $2.3 million to open the outpatient surgery center on the Banner Gateway and Banner MD Anderson campus in Gilbert, Ariz. The center has been renamed as the Banner Gateway Surgery Center.

3. Beaufort (S.C.) Memorial Hospital acquired the previously joint ventured Surgery Center at Beaufort. The surgery center opened in 2000, and the hospital initially owned a 40 percent stake. With the close of the acquisition, the hospital will own the center in its entirety.

4. Carter Validus Mission Critical REIT II acquired Cy-Fair Surgery Center in Houston.
The facility is 100 percent net leased to Cy-Fair Surgery Center, LTD. The surgery center is CVMC REIT II’s first property.

5. Great Bend, Kan.-based Centura Health and Hays Medical Center (HaysMed) signed a letter of intent to co-own St. Rose Ambulatory & Surgery Center.

6. CNL Healthcare Properties, a real estate investment trust, acquired two medical office buildings in Coral Springs, Fla. The MOBs, adjacent to the Broward Health Coral Springs Hospital, are occupied by a hospital-owned ambulatory surgery center and the Digestive Care Physician Group.

7. CNL Healthcare Properties acquired the Lee Hughes Medical Building in Glendale, Calif., which houses the Adventist Health ambulatory surgery center.

8. Flagler Hospital in St. Augustine, Fla., acquired St. Augustine Surgery Center.

9. Newport Beach, Calif.-based Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian invested in Newport Bay Surgery Center, an ophthalmology center.

10. Long View Equity Partners, based in Austin, Texas, acquired the New Braunfels, Texas, building which houses the Christus Santa Rosa Ambulatory Surgical Center.

11. Mercy Medical Center Sioux City and United Surgical Partners International partnered to acquire a majority interest in Siouxland Surgery Center in Dakota Dunes (S.D.)

12. Methodist McKinney Hospital acquired an orthopedics and pain management-focused outpatient surgery center in McKinney, Texas. The hospital will retain the surgery center's primary physicians.

13. National Surgical Hospitals acquired an interest in the Fairfield (Conn.) Surgery Center.

14. Northern Arizona Healthcare announced plans to acquire Summit Surgery Center in Flagstaff, Ariz.

15. Northstar Healthcare acquired ownership interests in an urgent care center and two imaging centers in Houston.

16. Northstar Healthcare reached an agreement with First Surgical Partners to form a new business entity, which will own and operate First Street Hospital and First Street Surgical Center, both in Houston. Northstar will own 51 percent of the new entity.

17. NVISION Laser Eye Centers acquired two practices of Nevada Eye Care, NVISION's first acquisitions in the state. NVISION now includes 17 eye centers.

18. NVISION Laser Eye Centers acquired Teplick Custom Vision in Portland, Ore., the company's first acquisition in the state.

19. Orlando Health/USP Surgery Centers acquired a 51 percent interest in University Surgical Center in Winter Park, Fla. Orlando Health partners with United Surgical Partners International in ownership of the surgery center.

20. PhotoMedex, a skin health company, intends to acquire LCA-Vision for $106.4 million. LCA-Vision owns and operates 62 LasikPlus surgery centers throughout the U.S.

21. Physicians Realty Trust, a self-managed healthcare properties REIT, acquired the Renaissance Center in Oshkosh, Wis., which houses ThedaCare Surgery Center and Fox Valley Plastic Surgery.

22. Physicians Realty Trust acquired a medical office building in Bloomington, Ind., which houses Surgicare and Summit Urology.

23. Physicians Realty Trust acquired Peachtree Dunwoody Medical Center in Atlantafor $36.6 million. Peachtree Orthopedics occupies 26,785 square feet, which includes clinical space, an ASC, physical therapy services and an imaging center.

24. During the second quarter of 2014, Physicians Realty Trust acquired the Surgical Institute of Monroe (Mich.) Ambulatory Surgery Center facility.

25. Physicians Realty Trust acquired Baylor SurgiCare at Mansfield (Texas) and the Eye Center of Southern Indiana in Bloomington.

26. Physicians Realty Trust acquired Great Falls (Mont.) Clinic Surgery Center for $4 million. The facility is now signed under a 15-year absolute, net master lease.

27. Central Piedmont Surgery Center in Asheboro, N.C., initially a joint venture, has been completely acquired by its partner Randolph Hospital.

28. A subsidiary of Senior Housing Property Trust acquired the Texas Center for Athletes medical office building in San Antonio, which houses several tenants including The Center for Specialty Surgery.

29. Lumberton Surgical Associates became an affiliate of Southeastern Health on April 1. The center was also renamed Southeastern Surgical Center 2.

30. The Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board approved St. John's Hospital's proposal to acquire Prairie Surgery Center in Springfield, Ill., for $8.5 million.

31. As part of the Symbion acquisition, Chicago-based Surgery Partners purchased the Honolulu Spine Center for $5.82 million.

32. United Surgical Partners International acquired a 55 percent interest in Somerset Ambulatory Surgery Center in Somerville, N.J.
