Becker’s has reported on three ASC closures in the last week as outpatient surgery facilities cite consolidation, efficiency and shifting care sites.
Here are the three closures:
1. Vandalia Health is closing the SurgiCare outpatient surgical facility at CAMC Memorial Hospital in Charleston, W.Va., citing a need to reduce duplication and maximize efficiency. Surgical services will be consolidated at the Outpatient Surgery Center at CAMC General Hospital and the main operating rooms at CAMC Memorial and CAMC Women and Children’s Hospital.
2. DISC Surgery Center at Walnut Creek (Calif.), formerly known as Pinnacle Surgery Center, has permanently closed as of Aug. 1, according to a notice posted on the facility’s website.
3. Three Gables Surgery, an outpatient surgical facility in Proctorville, Ohio, is ending operations later this year. The center will start a phased closure and transition services to two hospitals that are part of Huntington, W.Va.-based Marshall Health Network.
