22k-sq-ft joint venture ASC opens in New Jersey — 3 insights

Jefferson Health, Rothman Institute, NueHealth and several Philadelphia physicians formed a joint venture to open the $17 million, 22,000-square-foot Jefferson Surgery Center in Cherry Hill (N.J.), The Inquirer reports.

Jefferson Health and the Rothman Institute are based in Philadelphia, while NueHealth is based in Leawood, Kan.

Here’s what you should know:

1. The center has 15 clinical associates on staff, six operating rooms and two procedure rooms. The center can perform 10,000 procedures annually.

2. The ASC is on the former campus of Kennedy Health System. The campus was acquired by Philadelphia-based Thomas Jefferson University in January 2016.

3. NueHealth will oversee the day-to-day management and operations of the center.
