Grifols, a producer of plasma-derived medicines, entered a distribution agreement with Henry Schein, which will market and distribute Grifol's 500 milliliter normal saline solution in the U.S.
Grifols currently manufactures the solution in Murcia, Spain. In 2017, Grifols received FDA approval to market its normal saline solution in 500 milliliter polypropylene bags in the U.S. to mitigate the current shortage of normal saline in the U.S.
This agreement represents a step to further develop Grifols' hospital division in the U.S., a key market for the division growth strategy.
