Washington State Senator "impressed" by 2-ASC tour in Colorado

Proliance Surgeons and the Colorado Ambulatory Surgery Center Association recently arranged for Washington State Senator David Frockt to visit the Orthopaedic & Spine Center of the Rockies and Harmony Surgery Center in Fort Collins.

Sen. Frockt is a member of the Washington State Senate Health Care Committee. The meetings included a tour and briefing with administrators, physicians and other healthcare professionals. They compared Colorado ASC operations to Washington State ASCs.

"It is crucial that we educate legislators, regulators and others from our state and all states about the unique role ASCs play in delivering cost-effective, quality healthcare," said CASCA Executive Director Chris Skagen.

Barbara Hardes and Mike Bergerson hosted the visit at the Orthopaedic & Spine Center of the Rockies and Rebecca R. Craig hosted the Harmony Surgery Center visit. Ms. Craig is a past CASCA president and vice president of the Ambulatory Surgery Center Association.

"We were pleased to host Sen. Frockt and discuss how Colorado ASCs operate," she said. "I am proud our reputation for excellence is growing.

Sen. Frockt appreciated the opportunity to learn more about ASCs

"I was impressed with what I saw and heard and plan on bringing what I learned back to the Washington State Legislature," he said.
