1. Contract with payors. While the ASC has some relationships with third-party administrators and government payors, it does not have contracts yet with private payors such as Anthem or Cigna. This means that private-pay patients are limited to insurers that allow out-of-network payments. The ASC is currently in negotiations with insurers.
2. Get three-year accreditation. Like many new ASCs, Eastwind has been awarded accreditation for one year from the AAAHC and wants to move to three-year accreditation. This means making sure to resolve all issues from the year before. The ASC is undertaking 10 process-improvement projects.
