Here are four highlights:
1. The new center will provide radiation oncology services and will be managed by UF Health Cancer Center – Orlando Health and Integrated Oncology Network.
2. It will give patients in and around Lake County local access to the cancer center specialists, vast resources, leading-edge treatments and ongoing medical trials.
3. The new center will offer technologies such as the Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy and Image-Guided Radiation Therapy. IMRT is the most technologically advanced and most precise method of external beam radiation therapy available.
4. The 4,800 square-foot center will open on Mon., Jan. 11, 2016.
