Medscape’s survey, conducted between Jan. 22 and March 2, queried more than 2,340 physicians on what healthcare system they viewed to be the best for the U.S.
Here’s how they answered:
- Health insurance/patient pays some expenses: 24 percent of physicians
- Single payer/insurance mix to guarantee care: 48 percent of physicians
- Single-payer system to guarantee care: 21 percent of physicians
- No need to guarantee healthcare for all: 6 percent of physicians
