SCA, HealthEast partner on Maplewood Surgery Center merger; Medical Facilities Corp. names Britt Reynolds CEO — 5 key notes on ASC companies

Here are five updates on ASC companies from the last week.

Britt Reynolds Medical will assume his role as Medical Facilities Corp.’s CEO on June 1, 2016. Equipped with 28 years of experience in hospital and health services management, Mr. Reynolds will work to build on the company’s existing business and seek new opportunities in the U.S. market.

Surgical Care Affiliates is partnering with St. Paul, Minn.-based HealthEast on a merger of HealthEast’s Midway Surgery Center and Maplewood Surgery Center. Through the partnership, the multispecialty ASC will offer orthopedic, podiatry, otolaryngology, gynecology and general surgery services, among others.

For the full year 2015, Tenet Healthcare’s ambulatory segment delivered net operating revenue of nearly $1.3 billion, a 17.8 percent increased from $1.1 billion in 2014.

West Palm Beach, Fla.-based Center for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy hosted the Palm Beach Outreach Coordinator Charity Lewis. The AmSurg-affiliated surgery center offers express scheduling for patients 50 years and older who need a colonoscopy.

Hospital Corporation of America shares traded at $76.37 per share during the week of March 21 to March 24, up 1.2 percent.
