Rep. Lance Gooden visits Texas ASC — Will the meeting affect change for local patients?

In tandem with the Texas Ambulatory Surgery Center Society, Mesquite-based North Texas Team Care Surgery Center hosted state representative Lance Gooden, R-4, according to Mesquite News.

Here are four things to know:

1. During the meeting, Mr. Gooden spoke with the ASC staff on healthcare’s increasing costs and how the surgery center can work to lower costs for Mesquite residents.

2. The Texas Ambulatory Surgery Center Society, whose aim is to meet residents’ healthcare needs, invited the legislator.

3. Mr. Gooden observed an orthopedic surgery and met various surgeons as well as anesthesia personnel and other staff.

4. The ASC also aimed to show Mr. Gooden the benefits ASCs offer over hospitals.
