Orthopaedic Surgery Center of Asheville Projects $17k Cost Savings With New Device

The Orthopaedic Surgery Center of Asheville conducted a study of cost savings from the installation of three gas scavenger devices on their GE Aestiva 7100 with Metropolitan Medical and found a 10-year cost savings of $17,000 for the facility.

The center conducted a six-month cost analysis focused on the surgery center vacuum pump, weighing several significant factors to determine the benefits of new equipment. Pump run time was decreased by 2,025 hours and decreased electrical costs by projected $1,117.31 per year. The daily usage per day was reduced to 10.71 hours after installing the DGSS device.
